Now entering 80 years in publishing, VPC is a division of MAYS Multimedia founded in 1946 by the late J. Caulton Mays, in Detroit Michigan.
What drives your passion for printing and publishing?
“My hands have been stained with ink and my eyes were destined to design.”
– Ms. Elizabeth Mays.
I thrive in knowledge and creativity as expressed through printing. I’m unique in this role–-able to decipher when the client is talking about their book. I can imagine and envision what the project is before it’s done. I’m driven to provide creative strategies and ideas and expound upon what they initially expressed what they desired. My passion is to take the scope of the project and broaden it through colors, imagination, and enthusiasm. I was raised in this business; I’ve been learning since I was a child. I was born for this.
What is your desire for your publishing clients?
“Every person’s book is unique, just link their fingerprint.”
– Ms. Elizabeth Mays
My desire for my clients is for them to feel taken care of, safe in our hands, seen, heard, and valued for their voice, their story, their purpose. Our clients can rest when they come to us, not needing to go to seven different places for seven different ingredients, so to speak– because everything they need to create their book is right here with us. Every client is different, but my desire for them is the same.
What brings you joy?
“It brings me joy to reveal the completed product with our clients and see their joy as well.” – Ms. Elizabeth Mays
I love having the opportunity to bring together extremely talented people I believe in. I get to share all this talent and creativity with my community. I want to enjoy collaborating with our clients, and I want them to feel just as appreciated and respected as we do as creators. I love sharing myself and my staff with our clients. We’re gifts! We are gifts to them, and each client is a gift to us. It brings me joy to reveal the completed product with our clients and see their joy as well.
